Andrea’s teaching is deeply influenced by her own practice of meditation and frequent silent retreats, as well as volunteer work in nursing homes. With a background in classical voice and a life-long passion for writing, Andrea also enjoys infusing her classes with music and poetry.Within an atmosphere of joy and compassion, Andrea strives to teach her students the tools they need to heal themselves. Her hope is that her classes inspire others to live a healthier, happier and more peaceful life.
Andrea Bischoff is an experienced yoga and meditation instructor, Reiki master practitioner and Ayurvedic counselor.
With over 5,000 hours of teaching experience, she is passionate about sharing the healing benefits of yoga with students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
She has been practicing yoga since she was a child, when her uncle gave her a yoga mat and book on meditation to help her deal with anxiety. Since her first teacher training in 2012, Andrea has immersed herself in the practice of yoga and
alternative healing. She has two, 200-hour yoga certifications and two, 500-hour certifications, one in alignment-based vinyasa and the other in traditional hatha yoga from the Himalayan Institute. She is certified to teach restorative, yin, senior, kids, pre- and post-natal yoga, chair yoga through the Silver Sneakers senior fitness program, Thai Yoga Bodywork, Ayuryoga through the Ayurvedic Institute, and mat Pilates through the Power Pilates method. Andrea is also a certified Ayurvedic counselor, having studied with David Frawley’s American Institute of Vedic Studies in India. For the last few years, she has been a student of Sanskrit and Eastern philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania and of Buddhist
philosophy through the Shambhala lineage and Tibetan yogini Khandro Rinpoche.
