Bruce Bowditch
Certified Anusara yoga teacher
Bruce is a certified Anusara(TM) yoga teacher, author and a fine artist living in Tucson, Arizona.
Bruce took his first yoga class in 1978 when still in high school in Rome, Italy but only practiced occasionally. Several years later, while working as advertising Creative Director in Melbourne, Australia, he began to study yoga in earnest. Since his teens, he had practiced a lot of martial arts and developed a lot of injuries in the process. By contrast, he found yoga to be so much kinder and loving—it felt so healing and seemed so full of spiritual potential. He immediately appreciated these qualities, yet also liked the physical orientation. Bruce eventually returned to the US where he studied with Patricia Walden and other select Iyengar yoga teachers. He later found Anusara yoga and began studying closely with its founder, John Friend, establishing a relationship that has changed his life in very deep ways. He had the good fortune to be one of a handful of chosen students to apprentice directly under John.
Bruce’s specialty is yoga therapeutics. He has taught many national and international workshops, intensive courses, teacher trainings and therapeutic workshops, and most recently served as Senior Practitioner and Head of Teaching at SPACE yoga studio in Taipei, Taiwan. He currently teaches workshops and weekly classes at Yoga Oasis in Tucson.
During classes and workshops Bruce’s goal is to create a lighthearted atmosphere where each student can safely push his or her boundaries, reaching beyond perceived limitations to a more expanded, more creative experience of themselves. One of his guiding principles, which he strives to impart to students, is that when we know how to make our bodies feel better the effect ripples through us, powerfully influencing our state of mind and heart. We actually feel happier, more enthusiastic and brighter about life as a whole.

TESTIMONIALS
Florence Corcoran
"As someone who travels around the Delaware and Lehigh Valley's for work I've had the opportunity to take yoga classes from many different teachers. I have had other great teachers, but I have yet to find a class where my yoga has progressed more or where I learned more about myself.
Florence's knowledge of physiology and ability to relate that to yoga is such a perfect pairing for anyone who wants to learn. Because I felt I had a better
understanding of my own body I was able to push myself farther and still feel comfortable. This led to some of the best, most intense workouts I've ever had in yoga.
Her teaching style built my awareness, my confidence, and physically prepared my body allowing me to make the impossible possible and do my first back bend.
I would recommend Florence to anyone."

The Knowledge to Navigate
Silver Kim
"One cannot speak highly enough of Silver Kim and the Yoga Teacher Training Program. Silver demonstrates a high level of proficiency and knowledge of all aspects of yoga. She keeps her classes fun, yet challenging no matter what level student she works with. The student will always be kept safe in a pose and may sometimes feel challenged even when the student may doubt his or her own capabilities, thereby leaving a class with a renewed self confidence and satisfaction in being able to reach a previously unattainable level. The Teacher Training program will delve into an even deeper level for a student who wishes to learn more of this ancient practice."
"Silver teaches from the heart. It is no wonder the Anusara style of Yoga touches her. For any serious student considering taking part in the Teacher Training Program at Kula Heart Yoga, you will see for yourself the warmth Silver Kim exudes throughout the training. It is time well spent".
--Lori A. Hallman
"Having practiced with Silver for several years, I have recently had the opportunity to take the 200 hour Teacher Training she offers. Even if you have no desire to teach this course, it is a great way to enrich your own practice."
"Silver's knowledge and her ability to explain the whys and hows of poses makes this course a very pleasurable experience".
